day.txt is developed and operated by Zbigniew Ledwoń, who is responsible for the website and the personal data handled when you contact support. For privacy questions and requests, email hello@daytxt.app.
Your notes and iCloud
day.txt stores daily notes, named notes and revision history locally on your device. When iCloud is available, the app synchronizes this content and your history-retention setting through your private CloudKit database. Technical identifiers and synchronization metadata are used to associate records and keep devices in sync.
No separate day.txt account is required. The app does not send your note content to a developer-operated server. Appearance and editor settings stay on each device. Editing, search and local history work offline.
Apple provides iCloud and processes data under its own terms and privacy policy. day.txt uses Apple's platform security; it does not add its own end-to-end encryption layer.
History, export and deletion
Notes remain in your library until you delete them. Revision history is automatically managed according to your retention setting, which defaults to one month. Older revisions are removed during app maintenance; choosing to retain history indefinitely keeps it until you delete it or change that setting.
Deleting a note removes its current text and revision history. A content-free deletion marker may remain to synchronize the deletion. Delete All Data in Settings removes the account's day.txt library and its history through iCloud. Other devices apply the reset when they next connect using a compatible app version. Device-local appearance and editor settings are retained.
Removing the app is not the same as deleting its iCloud data. On Mac, you can export the current versions of your notes as text files; revision history is not included. Copies you export or back up elsewhere are under your control.
Analytics and diagnostics
day.txt does not include advertising or third-party analytics SDKs. Its synchronization diagnostics are displayed locally in the app. Apple may provide crash reports, TestFlight feedback and usage information according to your Apple settings and Apple's policies.
When you contact support
If you email us, we receive your email address, any name you provide, your message and attachments. Messages to hello@daytxt.app are forwarded by Cloudflare Email Routing to a Gmail inbox. Replies may come from a Gmail address. Please only send note content or diagnostic information that you want to share.
We use this information to respond to your request and investigate problems, based on our legitimate interest in supporting day.txt. Support messages are retained only as long as needed to handle the request, related follow-up and any applicable legal obligations or claims. Contact us to request deletion.
This website
This website is hosted by Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes connection information, such as IP addresses and request details, to deliver and protect the site. We do not add advertising, analytics scripts or tracking cookies to these pages.
Hosting and security processing supports our legitimate interest in providing a functioning, secure website. Cloudflare and Google may process data outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area, under their applicable international-transfer arrangements. Details are available in Cloudflare's privacy policy and Google's privacy policy.
Your choices and rights
Contact hello@daytxt.app to request access to, correction of or deletion of personal data held through support, or to object to or request restriction of processing. Depending on the applicable law and the processing involved, you may also have a right to data portability. Providing support information is voluntary, though we need a reply address and enough detail to help.
You may lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. In Poland, this is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO). We do not use your personal data for automated decisions or profiling.
Changes to this policy
Updates will appear on this page with a revised date. Material changes will be communicated as required by applicable law.
